Systems Administrator Position

Salaried full-time Dev Ops/System Administration position. Data centers are located both in Canada and the United States. This position reports to the Manager of IT Operations.

As Dev Ops/System Administrator, IT Operations you will work to support active development and production deployments using automated techniques. A strong background with LAMP and problem solving is a must. In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and implementing tactical goals and operational activities of the department.
  • Taking part in or leading highly technical information projects and technical planning.
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and improving the architecture and development of large-scale enterprise systems to ensure 24/7 availability and timely recovery in the case of a disaster.
  • Maintaining and improving the deployment and testing architecture to support the applications developed.
  • Investigating, troubleshooting, and ultimately resolving complex production issues in a timely fashion.
  • Supporting coordination with various teams to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring all security precautions have been implemented regarding source code and proprietary information for the organization and its clientele.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to evaluate requirements, and recommend solutions to the Senior Management team.
  • Availability for on-call emergency response on a rotated basis.
  • A valid passport for travel to the US.

Minimum necessary skills include:

  • A minimum 5 years experience in a directly related position.
  • A positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Strong background with RHEL/CentOS Systems Administration.
  • Experience with deploying, troubleshooting, and tuning PHP applications.
  • Experience with Apache.
  • Experience with MySQL deployment, replication, and general administration.
  • Experience with shell scripting (bash/python/ruby).
  • Experience with SQL querying, database optimization, and database replication.
  • Knowledge of networking not limited to TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, Load Balancing, firewalls, email systems, and DNS.
  • Knowledge of web services including SOAP and JSON.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Experience with SAN administration.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi administration.

Beneficial Skills include:


  • Knowledge of Windows server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008r2, Active Directory, IIS, and Exchange.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 and desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of Development Environments including Flash Builder, PHPstorm, and Eclipse.

This is a full-time position in Vancouver, BC, Canada. No consultants or agencies will be considered.


Application Designer Position

Immediate need for an open-minded, customer-focused application designer with desktop, web and mobile application design skills to participate in early stage discussions and brainstorming sessions with clients, stake holders and our internal business unit, then develop application specifications suitable for development.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform competitive analysis and develop wireframes, flow diagrams, mockups, interaction diagrams, functional descriptions and acceptance testing processes. They will interact with our Project Managers, Art Department, Quality Assurance Department and Software Developers to ensure product quality and usability.

Candidate should have qualified experience with Visio, Microsoft Project, Photoshop, Fireworks, XML, HTML and CSS.

A team player is a must, with an excellent command of English, strong business sense, familiar with emerging technologies and the network economy.

Although not required, preference will be given to candidates who have computer science and human factors backgrounds.

Candidates will be interviewed and tested to verify their skills and familiarity with associated technologies.

Quality Assurance Technician Position, Consumer Facing Self-service Kiosk and Websites

We are looking for a long-term Quality Assurance Technician.

The technician will set-up hardware, install and perform functional testing of new products. This position requires also the performance of compatibility testing between current version software and websites.

Candidate will be responsible for the documentation of Acceptance Testing, minor modifications of Acceptance Procedures, and maintaining our in-house reporting system.

Knowledge and experience in digital photography is helpful, good verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft office suite are required.

This position is scheduled to work days, Tuesday through Saturday.
